We created Nymane from a joint desire to rethink how clothing is made today. We each have 20 years in the fashion industry where we engaged in the corporate design world and have seen firsthand the impact that it has grown to have on our economy and ecology.
Susanna grew up in Sweden where she learned to value and respect nature, and her clarity of design is informed by these values. Matt grew up in Brooklyn with italian and Moroccan heritage and spent the last 15 years traveling globally for design where he grew incredibly frightened of the growing impact of this industry
We connected in the desire for change. We both have kids. We care for their future. We don’t want to be a part of the pollution of their world. We want to sleep well at night. We are looking to start fresh and are exploring new ways to move forward, not relying on old, destructive systems. Our plan is to stay small and stay slow. To mitigate the negative impact that overproduction has on the communities where most clothing is made and the landfills where that clothing ends up. We are united in our desire to create quality, beautiful clothing that can last generations and provide us with the security of knowing where, how, and by whom it is made
